gEcrit is an IDE for writing Python programs that emphasizes quality and reliability. gEcrit features a light weight graphical user interface, the ability to switch between code and compiled code modes, syntax highlighting and indentation guides. There are two ways to start gEcrit: either from the command line or from an IDE, the latter is the recommended option. As a Python IDE, gEcrit takes on the full functionality of any other IDE available. Other key features include an optional Python shell and a Python module that helps you to understand the code in other programs that are opened in gEcrit. gEcrit is very easy to use and provides the most relevant information on all program elements. gEcrit is distributed as a single download. gEcrit is based on an old version of python from 2007. The latest stable version is 2.7.5. I have tested it on 2.7.5. gEcrit is not in pypi and it was not ported to the new Python versions A: I've used PyDev for Python development and was happy with it. It's an IDE that comes with the latest version of Python (2.7), and you get all the goodies out of the box. You can either use the command-line or the graphical interface. Installation is as easy as apt-get: sudo apt-get install python-pydev And you're done. (Tested with Ubuntu 11.10) The present invention relates generally to cache memory and, more specifically, to a memory architecture that employs a synchronous write cache in a non-uniform memory access system. Cache memory is typically implemented in an integrated circuit that provides temporary storage for data and/or instructions used by a processor. When data or instructions are received by a processor, they are typically stored in a memory cache. Thus, a processor may quickly access data from a cache rather than from slower main memory. The benefits of cache memory are well known in the art. In particular, the time necessary to access the main memory is typically very long. Thus, data and/or instructions that are presently being processed are stored in the cache memory so that the processor need not wait for the data to be fetched from the main memory. A non-uniform memory access (NUMA) system typically includes a plurality of processors coupled to a memory architecture having non-uniform memory access. NUMA memory

gEcrit is a gEdit port to Python. It has all the features of gEdit, plus some new ones, like a Python Shell, Indentation guides, Syntax Highlighting and more. gEcrit includes a Python Shell where you can type Python statements and execute Python functions. You can run the Python interpreter from the shell with the "Execute Python script" menu entry. When running the script, gEcrit enables syntax highlighting and indentation guides. You can write Python scripts directly within gEcrit. You can use the "Python Script" menu entry to write and run Python scripts. gEcrit's Python scripts are compiled into byte-code which can be executed from the Python shell. You can use the "Open" and "File New" menus entries to open existing files or create new files respectively. If you want to edit a Python script, you can create and save it with the "File New" and "Save As" menu entries. You can quickly toggle the syntax highlighting and indentation guides. gEcrit includes a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that has a Python shell, a syntax highlighting and indentation guides, a bookmarks browser, a project window, a tabbed console and the main menus. gEcrit starts up with a Python shell and a "Projects" window. In the "Projects" window, you can add new folders, edit your scripts, open the Python interpreter and more. To add folders, simply select a folder in the file system. You can also drag and drop folders here. To add new files, select a file in the file system and create a new file here. You can see the indentation guides and syntax highlighting while writing your code by choosing the "Show Indentation Guides" menu entry. The "Show Indentation Guides" menu entry toggles the indentation guides and syntax highlighting on and off. You can also toggle them on and off with the "Toggle Syntax Highlighting" menu entry. The indentation guides represent the indentation of the Python code. Syntax highlighting is used to highlight important parts of the Python code. The indentation guides use the same colors as the code. The syntax highlighting uses different colors for different parts of the code. gEcrit's project window is an editor window that can be used for editing
gEcrit is a cross-platform editor with a graphical user interface for code editing (Python, Ruby, Perl, PHP, Lua, C/C++, Java, and many others) and a scriptable Python shell. It offers you more than 80 features including line numbering, code completion, syntax highlighting, version control integration, file and directory browser, bookmarks and more. gEcrit is very easy to install. Just add a single python package to your Python installation and you're ready to go. - Installation: gEcrit can be installed from the official website.
